HCT was the former vice honbu chief of Honbu 6 in our Johor organization. He was also the former YMD chief of Johor. At the beginning of Johor Incident, HCT collaborated with SKT and other anti-gakkai people to form RJ2 (Rescue Johor 2) and then used RJ2 to spread fabricated malicious lies through social media to attack GD and Gakkai. When their evil conspiracy was foiled HCT went ahead to form NBA. Many innocent leaders and members were misled into believing the true purpose of NBA was to reform Nichiren Buddhism. However, HCT founded another vehicle Persatuan Penganut Saddarma Pundarika Sutra (PPSPS) a few month later. Today, PPSPS has changed their gongyo liturgy and HCT encourages his followers to recite gongyo and chant daimoku in Mandarin.

PPSPS organised an exchange meeting for believers of Lotus Sutra in September this year, which was attended by SKT and LKK. Subsequently HCT shared his joy and boasted his “success” in Wechat.

Don’t simply use “Rely on the Law and not the upon persons” to fool the people
1. HCT says: “The right to practice Lotus Sutra does not exclusively belong to or dominated by any organisation, so long as you have the heart for Lotus Sutra, practicing rely on the Law and not upon persons are the true disciples of the Buddha. “

The fact is gakkai has never prevented any organisation from practising the Lotus Sutra. However, it is our responsibility to refute any evil intent to distort Nichiren Buddhism and any slander against Nichiren Daishonin, especially those who attempt to use distorted teachings of the five senior priests to insult or attack gakkai and mislead our members.

What exactly is ‘rely on the Law’? ‘Rely on the Law’ does not mean to merely recite the Lotus Sutra or participate in some exchange meetings. HCT always likes to mention ‘rely on the Law and not upon persons’. But is HCT himself ‘rely on the Law’? The person who ‘rely on the Law’ would not fabricate malicious lies and spread them in the social media with the evil intent to destroy an organisation that strictly follow the will and decree of the Buddha and widely propagating the Lotus Sutra.

‘Relying on the Law’ means to follow the truth and to seek the truth! It means to follow Buddha’s teachings, to transform our karma and attain Buddhahood through employing ‘The Strategy of the Lotus Sutra.’

The members of Soka Gakkai have been practising and propagating the highest teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha i.e. the daimoku of the Lotus Sutra, it is in exact accordance with the spirit of ‘rely on the Law’.

What then is “rely upon the persons”? HCT asked you to follow gakkai yesterday. But today he asks you to leave Gakkai and join NBA to reform Nichiren Buddhism. Then tomorrow he suddenly says it is better to discard Nichiren Buddhism and join PPSPS, and to recite gongyo and chant daimoku in Mandarin. You just have to wonder will HCT change his mind again after this? If you were the one that has been blindly following HCT and changing from one organisation to another, isn’t it true to say you are ‘relying upon the persons’?

Ironically HCT has been asking his followers to ‘rely on the Law and not upon the persons’, just wonder why some of them are still following him?

Many of these people parroting loudly on ‘Rely on the Law and not upon the persons’ but they themselves follow the person they like or dislike emotionally. Being emotional, filled with prejudice and contempt they themselves followed the person and forgot about the Law.

HCT’s stand is keep changing to fulfil his hidden agenda. Hopefully we will not be confused and misled by ‘rely on the Law and not upon persons’ advocated by a person with little knowledge in Buddhism.

It is a well-known fact that Soka Gakkai have spread the daimoku of the Lotus Sutra to 192 countries and territories throughout the world in a short span of 80 over years; it is an unprecedented achievement that no one is able to achieve since the passing of Shakyamuni Buddha more than 2,500 years ago; gakkai is also being openly recognised by many scholars as the foremost organisation that promotes the core values of the Lotus Sutra. It is also an undeniable fact that without gakkai and Sensei, HCT may not even know anything about Lotus Sutra till today.

SGI President stressed in his Peace Proposal in 2011 to UN: “The humanism upheld by the SGI is rooted in the teachings of the thirteenth-century Japanese Buddhist priest Nichiren (1222-82), who wrote: “The Law does not spread by itself: because people propagate it, both people and the Law are respectworthy.” Thus, while we seek “to rely on the Law, not on the person,” it is through the character and example of people that the Law is taught and spreads. In Buddhism, the Law (Dharma) is not something static. It is people, practicing and embodying it in their lives, who enable it to vigorously pulsate in reality. “

There is only one leader in Buddhism? Others who called themselves Buddha are their own creation?
2. HCT says: “We should realize there is only one leader in Buddhism, the leader in Buddhism is Shakyamuni, others who called themselves Buddha are their own creation.”

It is perplexing to observe prior to this HCT was advocating the reform of Nichiren Buddhism, but today he doesn’t even recognize Nichiren Daishonin as a Buddha. What an abrupt change  of heart! As a former senior leader in Johor who embraced Nichiren Buddhism, what HCT says is very disrespectful to Nichiren Daiahonin. Looks like HCT has been deeply influenced by Nichiren Shu and five senior priests. His distorted view is exactly the same as what had been taught by the five senior priests, it appears to us he is the five senior priests of modern era.

If we were to analyse those who have backslided in their faith, many of them still harbor doubts that Nichiren Daishonin is the Original Buddha deep in their heart, as such they have not been diligently believing and practicing in accordance with the Gosho. They neither believe in mentor and disciple spirit, nor do they carry out their faith, practice and study faithfully, as a result of that they are easily swayed by the eight winds.

At the time of Latter Day of the Law, Shakyamuni’s teachings lose the power to lead people to enlightenment. Nichiren Daishonin was born at the beginning of Latter Day of the Law to fulfill Shakyamuni’s prophesy that the True Buddha (Original Buddha) would appear and teach the Great Pure Law to save people for the eternal future.  Based on the Three Proofs of Documentary, Theoretical and Actual Proof, we are able to understand that Nichiren Daishonin is indeed the True Buddha.

In “The Selection of the Time,” based on his conviction that what he has experienced matches the sutra’s text, Nichiren Daishonin declares: “There can be no room to doubt that I, Nichiren, am the foremost votary of the Lotus Sutra in all of Japan” (WND-1, 575).

In “The Votary of the Lotus Sutra Will Meet Persecution,” Nichiren Daishonin declares: “Truly you should know that, adding Nichiren to the other three, there is now a fourth votary of the Lotus Sutra who has appeared in the Latter Day of the Law. How glad I am to fulfill the words of prophecy from the sutra.” (WND-1, 448)

The votary of the Lotus Sutra and the Original Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law are essentially the same. It was Nichiren Daishonin who first spread the fundamental teaching of the Mystic Law in the Latter Day of the Law, which the Buddhist teachers of the Former and Middle Days did not propagate. For this reason, the Daishonin is revered as the original Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law.

The fundamental of attaining Buddhahood is TRUE CAUSE

Perhaps the most important teaching of the Lotus Sutra is that concerning exactly how long Shakyamuni has been a Buddha.

The Life Span” chapter of the Lotus Sutra reveals his attainment of Buddhahood in the remote past, overturning people’s assumption that he attained enlightenment for the first time at around age of thirty, after meditating under the Bodhi tree in India.

The Buddha then explains with examples on a cosmic scale, the astounding magnitude of this “life span” as a Buddha. This has many profound implications. First, in all his teachings before the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha related stories of his practice in many lifetimes spanning countless kalpas in preparation for his attainment of Buddhahood in the current lifetime. With this revelation, however, it becomes clear that he was already a Buddha while carrying out these practices. His true identity is that of a Buddha since the inconceivably remote past. Hence his actions as an ordinary person for the sake of others over countless lifetimes were all expressions of, rather than means to attain, Buddhahood. This opens the way for the idea that ordinary persons can themselves be Buddhas who express their enlightenment through their mundane actions, particularly in their efforts to help others. It also attests to the enduring nature of Buddhahood: Rather than being simply a hard-won state of spiritual attainment, it is an ever-present innate condition that transcends birth and death.

Nichiren Daishonin identified the True Cause or fundamental Law which enables all Buddhas to attain their enlightenment as the Law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Because he fully revealed the True Cause for attaining Buddhahood and established a universal way of practice, Nichiren Daishonin is identified as the Buddha of the True Cause or Buddha of Kuon Ganjo (time without beginning), while Shakyamuni is called the Buddha of the True Effect or Gohyaku Jintengo.

Never ever make wild statements when you know so little about Buddhism

When HCT simply states: “We should realize there is only one leader (teacher) in Buddhism, the leader (teacher) in Buddhism is Shakyamuni, others who called themselves Buddha are their own creation.” Either he is ignorant or he is trying to fool others. For it clearly contradicts what had been preached in ‘Life Span’ chapter of the Lotus Sutra. We shall not be fooled by his erroneous views.

It is very mischievous for HCT to simply overthrow the identity of Nichiren Daishonin as the Original Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law, without employing the Three Proofs of of Documentary, Theoretical and Actual Proof. Worse still he thinks others cannot attain Buddhahood (hence he says calling yourself a Buddha is your own creation), which is against the universal principle of the Lotus Sutra. What he says has no credibility at all, it just doesn’t make sense and against the Buddha’s will.

We hope HCT will be a mirror for all of us, never ever make wild statements and talk as if you are the authority just because you have gained a little knowledge in Buddhism.

My dear comrades, ponder it deeply. Ponder it. If you are misled by an evil ex-gakkai leader, you will certainly regret it later. NMHRGY, NMHRGK, NMHRGY.
