Exposing And Refuting The True Nature Of Nichiren Buddhist Association (‘NBA’):

We can discern from the name and the expression of ‘Nichiren Buddhism Renaissance’ that the NBA is alleging that Soka Gakkai places too much emphasis on Gakkai and Sensei to the extent that we are worshiping him. Hence NBA is claiming that they are reviving the Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism that we have neglected.

Allegation 1: Gakkai is worshiping Ikeda Sensei
Ikeda Sensei is the mentor who inspired us to realize our mission as Bodhisattvas of the Earth. For Gakkai members, we strive to shoulder the mission of kosen-rufu in our respective community in order to repay the debt of gratitude to our mentor. Gakkai is an organisation of the Buddha’s will and decree whereby we carry out kosen-rufu in unity based on the spirit of oneness of mentor and disciple.
Allegation 2: Gakkai over emphasize the importance of Soka Gakkai
“If the spirit of many in body but one in mind prevails among the people, they will achieve all their goals, whereas of one in body but different in mind, they can achieve nothing remarkable…although Nichiren and his followers are few, because they are different in body, but united in mind, they will definitely accomplish their great mission of widely propagating the Lotus Sutra.” (“Many In Body, One In Mind” – WND I, p.618)
The existence of Soka Gakkai which makes strenuous efforts in propagating the Law is crucial in our Buddhist practice. It was due to the struggle of the three presidents in ‘propagating the Lotus Sutra’ with the spirit of ‘many in body, one in mind’ that kosen-rufu was expended to 192 countries and territories.
Observe all other organisations that claim to be the believers of Nichiren Buddhism, which is the one that correctly practices this teaching and demonstrates concrete results? Soka Gakkai is the only organization that strives for kosen-rufu in exact accord with the teaching of the Gosho. This is something we need to make it clear for everyone.
